Thesis work

“Anchored in the material exploration of felt-making and the embodiment of digital modes of communication, this work contrasts the slow, deliberate and tactile practice of felting with the fleeting and ephemeral nature of text messages. The result is a hybrid creature of text(ile) and tech: tangled layers of felt incorporate digitally printed text messages and embed an Arduino microprocessor within its organic form. By examining the nature of communication between mother and daughter, across time and space, I explore concepts of loneliness, loss, transformation, phenomenology and the political nature of the digital lifeworld.”
