OMID (hope) Is an immersive experience, a large structured semi-spherical dome inspired by Islamic architecture. With intricately designed Islamic patterns machine cut from basswood. The colour changing dome is influenced by the beautifully vibrant colour work in traditional Afghan jewelery and clothing.For the lost children of the diaspora or anyone seeking refuge, clarity and unity. OMID aims to encapsulate the viewer in a safe, mesmerizing environment to evoke serenity, peace and a sense of calmness. A structure to give the self sanctuary, to be one with themselves. Focusing on the repetitive geometric design, OMID allows for a sense of release of a high state of consciousness and through the river of vibrant colours the individual, can rest, sooth their mental anguish and nurture their interior garden.
