My Little Insecurities explores how curated online imagery shapes self-perception.I subvert the aesthetics of photoshoots and magazines to spotlight my own vulnerabilities.
“My Little Insecurities examines how curated online imagery influences the way we construct and internalize self-perception. By referencing and subverting the polished aesthetics of photoshoots and magazine culture, I shift attention away from idealized surfaces toward moments of vulnerability.Rather than presenting insecurity as something to conceal, I treat it as material—something visible, constructed, and shared. Through this process, I question how much of our identity is shaped by external visual standards and how these standards are absorbed into personal narratives. This work reflects an ongoing tension between performance and authenticity. By placing my own vulnerabilities within a staged visual language, I aim to blur the boundary between what is presented and what is felt, inviting viewers to reconsider the relationship between image, identity, and self-worth.”
