The artwork features a detailed, stylized figure of a woman seated within the peeled skin of a tangerine. Her dress and face are rendered primarily in black, white, and grayscale, contrasting sharply with the rich oranges, reds, and browns of the surrounding fruit peel. The background is left largely neutral, emphasizing the central figure. Delicate, tazhib blue-and-white patterned borders frame the top and right edges, echoing traditional Persian miniature motifs. The combination of natural elements and portraiture creates a surreal, suspended atmosphere that merges representation with abstraction.

“Blending Persian miniature tradition with contemporary narratives of identity, gender, memory, and transformation.”
