The stories I tell my children

Drawing

246ft aluminum wire, knitted I-cord (yarn), dimensions variable

“When my children ask a question, I often take the opportunity to give them a long answer. I want to cram in every observation, experience, and anecdote. Partly because I would have appreciated a thorough answer as a kid (I think), and partly because I want to pass on as much as I can to help them navigate life. My speeches end up being long and meandering, repetitive and full of tangents. Stories turn into other stories until, "what did they ask again?" They've already lost interest and forgotten.”
