Who Am I Talking To!

This short film is about my journey going back to my hometown to revisit and document a traditional Chinese Hakka New Year. As an adult, I follow my grandmother's footsteps; perceive and reflect upon the rituals and preparation that were significant to me as a child. The rotoscoping animation in this film resembles the action of retracing and revisiting the past, whilst the footages shot on camcorder carries vintage textures to display the current time. The visuals illustrate layers of realities and juxtapositions.
