acrylic paint, spray paint, memory foam, clay, newsprint, flour, plaster, wooden dowels, satin, tulips, sketchbook
Drawing on the body’s memory, eclecticism, and metaphysical embodiment, from these foraged items emerge shrines, spines, bound flesh.

“This work follows my investigation into healing, serving as a pseudo-prayer space to mend one’s relationship with the body. Drawing on the body’s memory, eclecticism, and metaphysical embodiment, these relics both stand in for the body and create a space for healing to occur. Pulling visual inspiration from religious artifacts and focusing on their ability to give bodies lasting meaning, I combined memory foam, rope, organic materials and plaster as surfaces for colour to be experienced in their environment.”
