The composition does not depict arrival as destination but as orientation. Wood carries the quality of becoming without effort, a clarity of direction that does not demand certainty before it moves. This is also a painting about displacement β about what it means to seek footing in soil that was never offered to you. If the ground is not available, you bring the ground to you.
