This piece is comprised of an umbrella handle and a forearm tightly balled into a fist which shoots up in protest at the press of a button. It lays upside-down, next to a hanging raincoat, and a pair of tucked away rain boots. Through its installation, these active symbols are pacified, examining the environmental impact of protest fatigue and performative forms of social justice. I also question the impact of a system that relies on us growing tired and giving up.
