Movie Title Sequence

Video
This piece was created as a title sequence for an concept of film that was used for inspiration. Although the project is mainly conveyed through a 1 minute video, extensive research was conducted to examine similar techniques in film and a brand concept was developed for the movies typographic, and illustrative language.

“Some of the most interesting title sequence's are created with low budgets and out of the box thinking. This was the goal of this piece: to try to manipulate the concept of scale using texture, colour, sound, and motion to bring viewers from a microscopic level to the a more recognizable world. The concept behind the title sequence is a movie about a harmful chemical compound that has become airborne wiping out the majority of the world's species excluding a small region where life is still sustainable. Along with close up shots of various materials and objects, software editing was used to create convincing transitions between the stages, and to alter elements like colour and texture. The appearance of the type also contributes to the concept through changes in scale and movement, sometimes following the scene or competing with it. The intro follows a traditional plot graph climbing the the end and falling to reveal the wordmark for the film and conceptually, the beginning of the film.”
