Toxicity of Social Media

The two-volume graphic and typographic booklets titled, “Toxicity of Social Media” replicates the dark side of the digital realm consisting of malicious individuals residing in a toxic environment characterized by information overload and the lack of privacy. As a result, both of the booklets were designed to be highly chaotic, confusing, and difficult to navigate through due to sensory overload.In order to enhance the overall experience for the viewer, a high gloss paper was purposefully chosen to contribute to eye fatigue, much like what would happen when an individual gazes at the glaring digital screen for an extended period of time. Due to this, the viewer is meant to feel uncomfortable while they are looking through both of the graphic and typographic booklets.Although the Typographic Narrative may appear similar to the Graphic Narrative in terms of chaoticness, the Typographic Narrative, in contrast, instills a sense of emptiness and loneliness within the viewer.
