An egg tempera painting on wood panel exploring genesis, emergence, ritual materiality, and the first moment when form begins to take shape.

“Conception is an important precursor to the seed, vessel, and interior forms that recur in my later thesis work. Made in egg tempera on wood panel, the painting uses an ancient medium to give the image a ritual and symbolic charge. Inspired by Ukrainian Orthodox icon painting, the work meditates on beginnings: the moment when form, idea, body, and spirit are first seeded. Its bright colour and layered brushwork hold conception as both material process and imaginative emergence.”
