The confining landscape of the city.
“ This series of cityscapes reflect the conformity and linearity of the metropolitan. I photograph vast spaces that are familiar to me but confine them into a tight composition, just like how Toronto, which, despite being a big city, limits my interaction and sentiment. As dynamic as it could, metropolitan still forces me to conform to a certain way of living that I cannot seem to escape. It layouts very uniform purposes, like getting better degrees at better universities to go into a better jobs. It seems like many things that I have accomplished so far is to conform to these purposes, but only with methods that I feel freer and more comfortable. So far, I have always been a student living in cities, and have never escape that role. Thus, my lifestyle and my environment are very uniform and repetitive. I walk and see the same things over and over again, conforming to the vast yet limiting city.”
