This painting forms the third panel of a triptych within the installation, part of an expanded folio that extends the work’s spatial and conceptual field. It cultivates an atmosphere of mystery, loss, and longing, using the threshold as a site of tension between presence and absence. Drawing on verses by Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal of Lahore, the work probes the underlying, often unseen forces of colonialism and imperialism, approaching them not only as historical conditions but as enduring psychological and spiritual pressures.
