Large scale mixed media drawing exploring Samoan ancestry, material and process. Images of work in process as still underway at time of writing.

“This large narrative piece is the final expression of a series of nearly 200 drawings visually investigating elements of Samoan visual culture through material investigation, Journal of Polynesian Society articles and family oral histories. These accumuated drawings, done in several contained series represented evolving populations, informing the production of the ever larger drawings that followed. In this way a kind of metaphorical super being has arisen from this population mimicing workflow, standing boldy as a representation of the pride I have in the foundational elements I have learned about Samoan visual culture and the principals of life they embody. This 426*200 cm work produced in the last 4 weeks is a unifying narrative expressing the process I have undertaken beginning my Fa' a Samoa inspired journey.
