Hair is an understanding of line, the presence of repetition in each curve, an interaction with light. What is it to paint hair? To look at every strand, to repeat, to concentrate. Being present changes things; in this silence, this is how I read intimacy. There is a repetition of curl, a unifying shape present through my body of work which guides the eye. Here, this represents a preservation of memory, a summation of time.
