Repurposed Fabric and Homemade Walnut Ink
5" x 7"
This painting is made with homemade walnut ink. Nicole Collins, a thesis professor at OCAD University, taught our class how to make Black Walnut Ink. Collins recommended the book "Make Ink" by Jason Logan, where Logan provides recipes to creating homemade inks. My friend and I found a walnut tree in our neighbourhood and asked to take a few walnuts to create the ink. The process was messy but fulfilling. Creating items that can be used to make many projects is exciting. It is a small gesture to being a sustainable artist.
