This thesis will concentrate on the adaptive reuse of urban spaces that are abandoned or hold historical significance. The main aim is to reintroduce these structures to the public and provide a fresh urban space experience for the community, while also revitalizing the surrounding area. The project will prioritize sustainability and focus on creating sustainable development for the buildings. Additionally, the thesis will explore the position and direction of heritage buildings in the future urban context, recognizing their value in contributing to the cultural identity of the city.
“Adopting a heritage-led approach and innovative design techniques such as adaptive reuse, green spaces, and community involvement can improve the coexistence relationship between heritage and urbanism, offering a solution to the challenges of urban planning and development in the new era. This can result in sustainable, livable, and culturally rich cities that preserve the past while meeting the needs of the present”
