Drawing from the abundant supply of images provided by social media feeds, I carefully collect, curate and transfer reference photos into detailed and intimate watercolour paintings. Adapting transient and immediate digital snap-shots into hand-painted artworks on paper, I invite the viewer to slow down and laboriously inspect the subject's nuanced identity. The act of self-documentation and virtual performance is explored through my series of portraits and figure paintings.
