You is a children’s story book based on my growth throughout my life. The story revolvesaround three characters and a fantasy adventure story where the characters develop a sisterly bond and unite to become one individual at the end of the story. This process represents my physiological growth through different stages of my life as a child, teenager and young adult, masked by the idea that the characters are three sisters. The style I have chosen is a layered paper technique that I digitally illustrated, as I wanted a unique approach to the visuals in my book. The images will be in silhouettes and the colours will represent each character’s personality or the emotion in each scene. The colour scheme is influenced by cultural Afghan jewelry and the elements in the book are inspired by Islamic and Middle Eastern / Central Asian art, architecture, and culture.
