Under the Sun is a Life-Sim game that takes player into a dried-up world with scarce resources. Throughout their experience they are continually given choices to either live a comfortable life or help others. This game concept was created for and entered into the 2021 D&AD New Blood Awards. (Concept Video below)

“As a fish living on the dried-up seabed, every drop of water is precious. You can trade in the water you’ve earned from your job to afford a comfortable life, but not every fish is as fortunate as you are.In tackling the subject of creating a game that is a force for good, the largest hurdle was building an environment that would call for genuine compassion. Players have limited resources that they can spend on themselves, or they can voluntarily share to help others. Doing so won’t result in tangible rewards like points, cash or collectables, but players will be rewarded intangibly through story development, friendships and more creative gameplay.Under the Sun is a game about compassion and self-sacrifice, built to not only entertain but to nurture players into genuine forces for good.”
