Static
Video
“Static”, is a dramatic short film set in the near future, in which a new technology, Memora, allows a young, anxious man, Jay, to search for closure following the guilt of a car accident that led to the death of his best friend, Bel. Under the influence of this new technology, in a subdued state, Jay visits key moments in his past friendship with Bel.
“The major themes explored in “Static” include: the intersection of memory and relationships, technology, trauma, and human interactions with artificial life. I am thinking through certain questions: in the near future, how could we access our memories? How do we use memory to build relationships? How does skewed memory affect relationships? ”
