WALK ALL OVER ME

Textiles
2021
Screen printed linen
This floor piece is intended to be walked on by viewers. This is done so by being placed in the middle of a gallery space. All of the fabrics used in this work are archived screenprints that feature images from a previous relationship. In order to heal from our experiences, we must put them literally below us to move forward. By letting others WALK ALL OVER ME, I invite conversation on power dynamics not only in intimate relationships but in a gallery space as well. Over the course of the week, the artwork was on display, it collected dirt and footprints as intentional mark-making. We are all abused over time and this textile work is no exception.
