Climate change should be considered when it comes to architecture. It should be sustainable, multi-functional, and flexible to ensure usability in varying environments. Renovating and improving vacant spaces to become sustainable and multi-functional will enable communities by providing functional areas best suited for programs such as marketplace, co-working space, and learning zone, with the concept of ‘sustain and nurture.’I want to renovate the Canada Linseed Oil Mills Ltd, which is an abandoned space. The goal is to let them use this space daily and feel welcome, genuinely comfortable and convenient when visiting. I want to propose an environmentally friendly and user-friendly design approach using sustainable and flexible methods to design each area.Creating this multi-use space means adding to the community; to do so, I wish to have food vendors (marketplace), co-working spaces, a cafe and a learning zone. Once completed, this multi-use space will support or gives opportunities to those in need. This allows the community’s people to create their own business or for the people to have their own landmark and place for celebration or relaxation within their neighbourhood.

“My project focuses on redesigning an abandoned space to create a valuable space for the community by developing a community center. Furthermore, I want to make the city feel supported both psychologically and physically from this community space. ”
