Fifi Howls From Grief

"Fifi Howls From Grief", grief of humans' solitude, grief of lacking wisdom, grief of death without knowing the meaning of life. Artistic Adaptation: Adaptation of Sohrab Sepehri's poem and Bahman Mohasses's paintings.

“"The Fishes Convey a Message"I had gone to the courtyard pool Perhaps to see the reflection of my solitude.The pool was empty.The fishes said:"The trees are not at all to blame.It was a hot summer noon.The Bright Son of Water sat by the pool.And the Sun's Eagle pounced down, taking him away."Cursed be our ignorance of oxygen!From our scales, shine vanished, it did.But that blaze, the red coronation In the water, gave us eyes When the wind stirred behindThe clay parapets of our sleep.A peep-hole on paradise!Should you see God in the Heartbeats of the Garden, hasten to say: The fish pond is without water.The wind was visiting the pine tree. I was on my way to God. "Sohrab Sepehri"Sohrab Sepehri is considered to be one of the five most famous Iranian poets who have practiced modern poetry. The beauty of his poem is because of the nature and existence of tender and simple language. His poetry has been translated into many languages, including English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Swedish, Arabic, Turkish and Russian.Based on my research, "Fish" in this poem represents deeper awareness of the unconsciousness or higher self, or a wise person or mystic (who is looking for the real meaning of life).Moreover, in Sohrab's poem, "Water" is the symbol of wisdom therefore, the fish pound without the water is the metaphor of lack of wisdom.For creating this piece, I used the idea of mashing up Bahman Mohasses's paintings, "Fifi Howls From Happiness" and "Fish" and Sohrab Sepehri's Poem "The Fishes Convey a Message" together to echo or reproduce a different idea. ”
