Are You Home?

Illustration
This vignette triptych follows a storyline of a girl running into her home seeking shelter from the war, after which a man comes along and decorates the severely damaged house as a romantic gesture, utilizing the bullet holes by placing roses in them. The main focus is on the resilience of love in spite of disruptive or violent external forces such as wartime.

““Love Conquers All” explores the paradox of love blooming during war. This series of images emphasize the visual poetry that comes forward as a result of placing elements of love and war in juxtaposition. Stories of love thriving in a time of war are visually interpreted to explore the resilience of love and the need for love to conquer hate to preserve our humanity.
