I first titled this piece The Bully in My Backyard, yet that title gave it too much power. Conquering what has conquered you is to place it appropriately amid boundaries wherein one can continue to enjoy looking at history.Recognizing that what historically consumed every moment, thought, and breath will no longer be front and center in my story was key to moving beyond the limitations that marked my form for a season.It is not gone – it is re-contextualized into a composition I enjoy
