A site-specific performance in dialogue with Tishan Hsu’s first Canadian exhibition, Interface Remix at MOCA Toronto. Curated by Erin Storus.

“'skin maps,' investigates the topography of kinaesthetic response, interweaving paralinguistic communication pathways within a multi-channel soundscape. Composed by mapping the terrain of Hsu’s work, Liaw creates a multi-sensory language of sound and movement. Embodying shifts linking human and technological landscapes, skin maps unravels, wrings, and fragments visceral temporalities of in-betweenness.”

“Motivated by movement and relationalities between humans, beyond-humans, and homeland, my practice investigates ideas of kinesthetic in-betweenness through the topography of the body.”
