Trees interact with one another through crucial underground fungal systems which allow trees to support one another by connecting roots and distributing nutrients amongst the connected root systems. However, trees can become seriously ill and weak resulting in the loss of their fungal communication skills, cutting them off from other trees in their communities. Humans tend to repress and hide difficult emotions such as anger, sadness, and undergo illnesses invisible to others- such as depression. We may seem okay on the outside, however just like the trees we tend to loose communication with others when we undergo pain and suffering.
