Table Cloth

With intentions to explore the space between soft and tough I subverted a vintage hand-embroidered tablecloth by embroidering my own imagery of hands forming a heart-like shape around a dime bag filled with the stimulating party drug ecstasy, also known as MDMA. I embroidered this to appear as though it were part of the pattern, keeping most of the original cross stitch embroidery to respect the labors of the past and highlight the ordinariness of drug consumption for some, if not most users.
