Streamertail Bike Ring

The bed-billed streamertail is a hummingbird native to Jamaica and is its national animal. Known for their scissor tails, they are believed to have magical powers. But while the streamertails may not have any magical powers, they are known for their big impact on their ecosystems. Their long pointy beaks reach flowers and plants that other pollinators cannot. They pollinate flowers and plants that would otherwise be extinct without them.In awe of their beauty and their environmental impact, I designed a streamertail bike ring that not only represents the Jamaican culture but also communicates that small does not mean insignificant. Its design, with its curves and lines, enables the user to lock the bikes in multiple locations and are suitable for all sizes and types of bikes.Like the streamertails, our small actions can bring big gains for the environment.
