I AM NOT YOUR TOKEN

Inspired by Adrian Piper’s My Calling Card, I created a series of tokens that could be used to disrupt tokenization of folks who exist on the margins. I was in the process of designing a reiteration ofthese after critically thinking about how we interact and experience microaggressions. The tone is very firm and assertive, something that someone who is an aggressor could take as a threat. The concept of the redesign was to change the language to reflect how microaggressions sound.
