2024 Funguary Weekly Drawings

A set of character and creature designs drawn for a February event called Funguary.

“Funguary is a drawing challenge made by feefal in Tumblr. It is similar to Inktober where artists are encouraged to draw based on a prompt via a weekly theme and a list of fungi alongside it. I found this to be a fun exercise in both worldbuilding and character design. I wanted to take a fungus in the list and use it not merely as thematic or visual inspiration, but also speculate on how the character would look like if said fungus sprouted legs or gained sentience.The format of each piece shows a character with their respective moodboards, personality tidbits, height charts, and personal comments from me. Because I wanted to show some of them in motion, I exported these artworks in GIF form.”
