Topic: Deforestation Common Human Activity/Object: Sharpening a pencil Synthesis: The pencil represents the forest/wood, sharpening the pencil represents urbanization, the pencil shavings become housing. Eventually the pencil will reach its end and can no longer provide anymore wood.
