Mixed Media on Wood Panel
In this project, I adopted less harmful materials to the environment. I used clay, soil, and sludge to make the surfaces. Also, I tried to use leftover fruits to produce colours. Wood panels are used to represent the life embodied in wood and the life journey it had been experienced as the tree. I used my fingertips and syringes to mimic the actual process and bring my sincere feelings to the panel for this project.
“My work portrays the mental and emotional landscape of those grappling with chronic illness. By incorporating syringes from my weekly injections as tools in the artistic process, I seek to convey the inextricability of chronic illness from the creative process that it engenders. My work thus envisions art as the innate universal language that transcends linguistic and geographical divides.”
