This painting confronts the vulnerability of the human body within conditions of violence and deprivation. The figures appear wounded, fragmented, and suspended between life and decay, their physical suffering rendered with an unsettling intimacy. Traces of gilding interrupt the damaged flesh, introducing a tension between injury and transcendence. Rather than offering resolution, the work reflects on endurance, exposing the body as both a site of trauma and a bearer of latent dignity.
