The intimacy of hands require an attention that is close. In the nail specifically, I speak to a part of a greater whole, something that is individual, singular, and focused. Here, I capture a moment of intimacy in detail, where knowing something deeply becomes a kind of affective experience. Looking at one’s own hands is an act of personal reflection, here I speak to this knowingness. That in time, we may know our hands as they know us. There's a subtle power in knowing something well, in truly seeing it, and here, I explore how that intimate knowledge can feel both personal and universal at once.
