2022
This is a reflection project of my years in OCAD. I have presented my projects as “poker” cards, using Korean alphabet - Hangeul instead of numbers. These consonants represent the knowledge I have learned, all the time I have gone through in school, from A-Z (ㄱ-ㅎ). There are two sets of cards, one that presents the project, and the other with explanation. I wanted to connect my works from the past to current instead of only featuring the past works. The back page of the card depicts my project while the front page is a visual interpretation of the project and hangeul. I remember myself when I first came to OCAD. I was originally an engineering student, who self-studied all the design and adobe programs before coming to OCAD. I was proud of myself and my works. Now, as a student who will be graduating in a month, I look at the same works done by me in the past, and I feel embarrassed. I see the odds that I could not see during the time, and I see better directions to be done. However, there are the goods too. I see the moment when my interest toward motion graphic grew. I see the moment where I realized and learned something new. I am always learning, I learn when I design, but I also learn when I look back to my works. As a designer, who still needs to learn more, I am excited for the new environment for me to learn and grow.
