Self-Portrait with Mirror

This self-portrait combines oil painting and a mirror. The viewer is reflected by the mirror and implicated in the work.

“My paintings converge the viewer and the subject by combining self-portraiture and mirrors. The gaze is reflected and interrupted; observing is no longer a one-way process where a subject is singularly looked at. I want to bring an awareness where others become part of the piece and must confront themselves. ”
