Framework 07. Curating an open-source resource hubA guide to champion this work. An always up-to-date hub where graphic designers can find accessible and inclusive design resources. Recommendations:26. Build a dedicated, open-source resource hub for graphic designers to access the gold standard. All resources must be current and in line with advances in best practice, technology, and legislation compliance. The hub should include:– all communications documents as referenced in the ‘sharing through communication’ framework recommendations.– information on how to apply for professional development funding as referenced in ‘06. supporting through professional practice’ framework recommendations.– documentation on working with disability groups and individuals with disabilities as referenced in ‘04. building meaningful connections with disability communities’ framework recommendations.– a curated and industry vetted list of resources, training materials and webinars.– practical resources on how to implement accessible design across mediums and interdisciplinary design disciplines.– plain language versions of accessible design guidelines (such as WCAG) and examples of how the guidelines are implemented within practice.– documentation of known and recognized benchmarks to help check adherence.27. Integrate into the resource hub a platform for communication and collaboration that acts as a space for graphic designers to connect, ask questions and share resources and learnings.
