The artwork features a vibrant still life of figs against a rich, dark teal background. Three figs dominate the composition, two whole and one sliced open, revealing vivid pink and white interiors. Inside the flesh of one sliced fig, a miniature portrait of a woman's face is intricately drawn. A colourful Persian tazhib border frames the top of the scene, while a geometric brown and red patterned strip runs along the bottom.
“Blending Persian miniature tradition with contemporary narratives of identity, gender, memory, and transformation.”
