X. THE HIVE HOTEL
Environmental Design
2026
Our concept takes inspiration from the organicstructure of a hive not by replicating honeycombsliterally, but by abstracting their qualities into thearchitecture. We were drawn to the hive’s ability tobalance structure and flow, and used that idea to shapea space that encourages movement, interaction, andlayered experiences.Inside, the design introduces warmth and fluiditythrough the use of wood and soft, golden tones thatsubtly reference honey. Rather than overwhelming thespace with patterns, we incorporated refined gestures, curved forms, vertical layering, and seamless transitionsto evoke the interconnected nature of a hive. Theseelements create a soft, inviting atmosphere whileguiding users intuitively through the space. The exterior follows the same logic, featuring a curved, perforated concrete façade that allows light to filter inand animate the interior. These openings cast shiftingpatterns throughout the day, hinting at the hive’srhythmic order. The result is a structure that feels alive, both grounded and dynamic where every design moveconnects back to the spatial intelligence of a hive.
