The zine is a series of photographs produced into a small publication expressing the community and natural elements on Toronto Island. The closest balance between nature and community within the city is seen on Toronto Island. With the heart of the island being the community, resident’s treasure and protect historical buildings, natural landscapes, and ecological life while co-existing. This balance between societal structures and the natural landscape became the center of Toronto’s Nature Park series. The series begins with a look at the ‘man-made’ community interactions with the space and transitions into the natural elements and the landscape the island provides. Through this series the importance of natural preservation is emphasizes creating a basis for future conversations about the preservation and restoration of Toronto Island.
