Look for Pigeons

Sculpture
2024
Steel, Patina
30" x 5"
A sight specific sign encouraging a journey in observation, and pigeon appreciation. Made for a corridor in OCAD University, hand hammered directions on steel.

“The sign reads: Turn to your right. Walk out the pink doors. Walk until you see orange glass doors on your left. Exit those doors. Turn left. Walk up 7 steps. Continue straight until you see the elephant. Turn west. Walk until you see Chinese Bakery. If you have cash get a treat. Exit the bakery. Continue on west until you see a very busy intersection. Turn north and cross the intersection. Continue north. You will pass a busy fruit market. Continue past it. Unless you need a fruit. Continue north. At the first street you cross look to the east. There will be city bicycle parking and a fire hydrant. Stop here. Look for pigeons. There are usually some here. Observe the pigeons. What are they eating. Who are they friends with. How do their heads move. Look at their patterns. Are they flirting. What do you think of them. What do they think of you. Stay until you see 52 pigeons. Say thank you to them and leave. Visit again soon. ”
