GRASS-STAINED PANTS
Fashion
Machine knit mid-waist straight leg pants with hand-painted acid dye grass-stains on the knees. 36" inseam.
“Through partial knitting techniques and pattern design, I am attempting to create garments that characterize the idea of growing out of or into garments. Extra-long and extra-short hems, oversized silhouettes paired with micro-designs, cheeky and playful iconography, all referring to this awkward adolescent stage of growing up. The grass-stained pants juxtapose symbols of growth by offering a reference to immaturity, the concept of playing outside without any worry of the consequences of discolouring or wearing out your clothes. All of my pieces are meant to feel special like a keepsake or an heirloom, while also feeling fun and wearable.”
