Mis Abuelitos. Translation “my grandparents”. When it comes to the senses the one that I have linked to them is the sense of sound. Music is ingrained in me and has always played a large part in my family memories. It is a big part of being Colombian. My abuelitos by far compromise most of my oldest and fondest memories, and when I think of Colombian music, I immediately think of them. I have created a pair of maracas dedicated to them, and to the happy emotions, they elicit in my sense of hearing. I have also included a verse from their favourite song in both Spanish burned into wood as part of my display. They read:Amorcito Corazon sung by Trio Los Panchos. “Compañeros en el bien y el mal “Companion in good times and badNi los años nos podrán pesar The years cannot weigh us downAmorcito corazón My DarlingSerás mi amor” You will be my love”
