Focusing on the topic of battling with one’s self; I feel that during the middle of quarantine a majority of people were going through a period of finding themselves or trying to understand what’s going on and finding how to cope with the current situation. The figure’s body language is in the fetal position because it is trying to close itself off the world and it also indicates someone is being overwhelmed. The figure can only be seen from certain viewpoints as if they were hiding in plain sight. In everyday situations, it is hard to tell what people are going through in their lives and in this time, being that technology is the only safe way to communicate with each other, it is even harder to do so.

“Experimenting with light and shadow, the air-dry modelling clay is formed in a way that allows the light from above the canvas to cast a shadow of a person in the fetal position. Without the light, the figure will simply not be seen.”
