Do you ever winced from seeing an image of a needle on the floor? Or feel anxious from reading clutter notes? Our eyes are like a sensitive detector which they pay attention to subtle things in life and convey what we’ve observed to our brain. What we see may affect how we feel. To ‘view’ and ‘feel’ are essential components in a gallery setting as they assist viewers in reading a piece of art. The Sensorial Resonance: Observing and Experiencing Negative Emotion exhibition surveys the sensory interaction between the vision and emotion. The Sensorial Resonance is a sensory experimental exhibition that studies whether the audience’s mood can be stimulated by the works they see and how their emotions resonate. Clicking through the exhibited images, the audience will be taken to a sensory provocative video. These time-based works explore the artists’ artistic practices under the current pandemic. The artists used contemporary techniques in their work and hope that the audience can resonate with their feeling of emptiness, irritation and dissatisfaction by watching the videos. This exhibition emphasizes visual impact and gives a fun experience of triggering viewers’ emotions from what they see. Viewers are welcome to share their feelings on this exhibition by filling out the box at the end.
