DoubleTake

Installation
2025
Double Take is an interactive projection installation that uses a live camera feed to distort the viewer’s image in real time. A camera mounted above the projection captures visitors as they stand in front of the piece, and the system processes their image through a series of glitch-based visual effects. As viewers move, their reflections become fragmented, stretched, and unstable, creating the experience of a digital mirror that fails to function properly.

“Double Take invites viewers to question what they see. The work presents a mirror-like interface that cannot be trusted, constantly glitching, misreading, and distorting the person in front of it. What appears to be a reflection is actually a flawed interpretation generated by a system. The project draws on ideas of representation and perception, highlighting the gap between reality and its digital translation. In a time shaped by misinformation and technological overconfidence, Double Take encourages viewers to look again, think twice, and question the reliability of the images and systems they encounter.”
