Confronting Mortality

"Confronting Mortality" looks at the sport of big wave surfing and takes into consideration the immense commitment individuals place on their actions before participating in such an intense and deadly feat. Through this commitment they essentially are acknowledging theta real potential of death and must come to terms with this reality prior to even getting into the water. This sort of internal mental decision puts the individual into a frame of mind in which their senses almost become heightened as they have only but to focus on the task at hand and allow themselves to be fully emerged within the moment of action.
